A Retreat for Men who Want to Work
Oct. 14-16
Growing Our Community
SMG
For those of you in SMG, this weekend is intended to address two issues we’re facing as a community: one, we have a need to offer new men an opportunity to meet their obligation to attend a two-day retreat during their first 12 months in group; two, as a community we need more men who have the training necessary to co-lead two-days so that the burden doesn’t fall on one or two senior men every time. The last two years have posed their challenges for our group. It’s time for all of us to up-level our commitment and our skills in order to move SMG into a new stage of growth and maturity. The format, curriculum, and setting of this event is designed to do just that.
A Weekend in Emotional Leadership
Five Years of Refinement
This weekend retreat is based on one of EVRYMAN’s deepest growth experiences for men looking to take their social and emotional life-skills to the next level. Not only will you learn and grow yourself, but you’ll develop practical skills to help other men in their journey as well.
Skill Development
A time to hone in our authenticity, our relational acumen for the betterment of all, and our skills to take men deep. This training is for men committed to such work, strengthening life-long connections, and supporting each other on the journey.
Deep Connections
A Long History
In 2005 Owen invited 11 men to his house to start the Sandpoint Men’s Group. Today, 400 men, four groups, and EVRYMAN — we created a powerful method of change.
EVRYMAN Method came out of the thousands of hours sitting in that living room as well as Robert’s living room and Ricks Evan’s Bros shop and now countless other places, including Zoom.

Uplevel Your
We grow more together than alone.
Work
We join smg because we want to grow. With the help of science, thousands of men, and the EVRYMAN community, we created a method unlike any other.
Group
After we get traction, we want to help other men do the same. Often we struggle with how to take men deeper so they can get what they want. This method and training solve that problem.
Relationships
We all see it — we change, and our relationships at home and work change. Developing new skills of connection only accelerates the process.
Community
A large group meeting and an occasional social event do not bring us together in the ways we crave and originally saw with smg.
A Glass Ceiling
Every relationship will hit a glass ceiling at some point. This is a barrier that blocks growth, movement, and connection. In our primary relationships, this is when we may seek outside help like therapy, counseling, coaching, workshops, etc. Men’s Group is a relationship that we all have chosen in our lives. Groups hit their own glass ceilings, which can create frustration, disconnection, and even a lack of safety.
Periodic Advance Level Trainings are designed to open up new possibilities for Men to challenge each other, to process at deeper levels, to create with conviction, to express more freely, and to crash through the glass ceilings that we didn’t even know existed.
In our Groups, we create a collective field of competent emotional leaders that add to the safety of our space. This type of training allows men to develop new skills, resources, and to widen our own capacities. Our hope is that every SMG member will see the importance of this weekend and participate.
A Deep Dive
EVRYMAN’s MELT
Owen created the first MELT (Men’s Emotional Leadership Training) back in 2017 in response to requests from men who did the Open Source, EVRYMAN’s intro training. They wanted to learn the magic we brought — they wanted to learn the Healing Journey.
Each of the next eleven trainings had more and become tighter. Realizing there was a pattern to good work, EVRYMAN created the EVRYMAN Method to demystify what we do intuitively. With each training, more was added to the MELT Manual — now a 70-page manual on the many principles, skills, and practices smg has not seen.
Today to do the MELT, it’s $2000, plus travel. We get men flying in from around the world to take the training. It’s a powerful personal and professional development training unique to EVRYMAN.
Brad and Owen will be customizing the MELT to SMG’s needs for skill development and connection.

We Secured a Beautiful Venue
Many of us have enjoyed the pleasures of the Eureka Institute outside Sandpoint. For 48 hours, we all will as a group.
No, there will not be beautiful women in bikinis. Sorry.
